1. HUMBER THEATRE - Public Meeting, May 20
From a notice by the City of Toronto Planning department: "Community
Consultation Meeting"
Thursday May 20, 7:30pm
St. Pius X Catholic School, 71 Jane St.
Official plan and zoning amendments are proposed to permit a
13 storey, 9632 sq m mixed-use building consisting of retail on the ground floor; a health
club on floors 2 and 3; and 92 residential apartments on floors 4 through 13. A total of
49 parking spaces are proposed in 3 underground levels with access via Riverview Gardens.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for the community to
have input on this project, view the plans and ask questions. If you cannot attend the
meeting, you can still make your views known by sending a fax to 416 394-6063 or by
writing to Mr. Gary Wright, Director, Community Planning, West District, Urban Development
Services, 2 Civic Centre Court, Etobicoke, Ont. M9C 5A3.

please contact Ed Murphy, Senior Planner, 416 394-8234. You may also contact Councillor
Bill Saundercook at 416 392-4072. Attendant Care Services can be made available with some
advance notice.
(and from world19):
We've received several emails and calls from people about
this development; some concerned about the development itself; some concerned about
theapplicants (the Wynn family).
On our website www.world19.com,
we now have a page of information about the application, and notes from past newsletters
about the development and the newest BWV landlords. (world19 was the first to print news
about the closing of the theatre, and the first to report the property's purchase by the
Wynns).
Additional note: For those with an interest in the Wynns,
a public meeting on May 12 may be of interest. Hosted by Ward 14 Councillor Sylvia Watson,
it concerns a rezoning application by the Wynns to build a new 207 apartment building near
their "well-known" apartments at 103/105 West Lodge Ave.
Meeting details:
Wed. May 12, 7-8:30pm
Parkdale Public Library, 1303 Queen St. W.
2. GERARD KENNEDY: "BUDGET BREAKFAST"
- May 19
Over the past several years, Parkdale-High Park MPP Gerard Kennedy has hosted a
community breakfast meeting on the morning after the provincial budget was tabled. This
year, rather than critiquing the budget as an opposition member, he hosts it as a member
of the goverment, the day after it announces its first budget.
Loyola Arrupe Centre for Seniors
1709 Bloor St. W.
(across from the Keele subway station)
Wednesday, May 19, 7:30 - 9:00am
From his flyer advertising the event:
"Continental breakfast will be provided. ($5 for
those who can afford to pay).
Here is an opportunity to understand and to discuss the
province's direction first hand and the implications of the budget for our community.
Please RSVP no later than noon, Monday, 17 May. 416-763-5630
